On Religion and Politics...

There are many GOOD, and VALID reasons I am a Republican.

Your SEO optimized title Because I love people; all people, from all places, from all walks of life. And I genuinely want the best for people. I want them to have opportunity. I want them to have success. I want them to have basic needs. I want them to be able to follow their dreams. I want them to not have to worry about EVERY. SINGLE. MOVEMENT. being tracked, watched, & recorded by the government. I want people to live their lives, doing their desires, creating wishes & cultivating realities.

I want opportunities to exist for my children. I do not want my debts, my country's debts, or my states debts - to impede on their desires, their wishes, or their possibilities. Nor do I want the laws and protections that our amazing country created and were founded on; to be infringed and voided for the future of their prosperity.

I fully believe in the limitation of government, and the unrestricted and uninhibited potential for growth and success of the individual; fully & truly, I believe in the "American Dream" and I believe that we have prevented and/or too heavily regulated the american people (especially so in Maryland) from being able to follow their dream; to be able to KNOW the "American Dream".

There are many GOOD, and VALID reasons I am a Christian.

I have very devout and personal beliefs; I have been far from quiet about that on my blog. That being said; I fully acknowledge that this is my personal belief; and my personal belief should not be the law of the land, but the law of my Heavenly Father. I respect and appreciate that I live in a land that was built upon (and for!) religious freedom & tolerance. Too oft, the Christian Right forgets that.

Of course, I would love for every citizen of this amazing nation to know the same amazing Ruler as I; but not because it is law. Nor because it is indoctrinated into them; but because through a searching & fearless inventory, and path - they found the ultimate supreme Ruler; who is the true Leader, the true Guider.

There are many GOOD, and VALID reasons I firmly believe these two things; are separate.

I do not think because I separate my personal values & beliefs from my political values & beliefs; that I am a hypocrite, any less a Christian or any less a Republican, or so forth.

"The government of the United States is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion." —Treaty of Tripoli, Article 11, written during the administration of George Washington and signed into law by John Adams

I believe that our country was founded on the design of a moral code(that was eventually replaced, and modernized to be an ethical not a moral code) that may have been 'modeled' off of Christian values & beliefs; but merely as a moral suggestive code, not a religious requirement.

This is a topic, I could go (and probably will in segments) go on and on about.

I am grateful that I live in a country that via the 1st Amendment, I am able to discuss such topics.
I truly hope, that via good representation in Washington D.C. and on the state and local level; as well as truth seeking in my personal belief system; these are two things that are never crossed, but continued to be held with the utmost respect and ethical code.

I leave you with this, so perfectly

God has appointed two kinds of government in the world, which are distinct in their nature, and ought never to be confounded together; one of which is called civil, the other ecclesiastical government.”
